As part of the ongoing effort to create the conditions for the return of Cpl. Gilad Shalit and preventing rocket attacks from being carried out against the citizens of Israel, an IDF force has been operating in the central Gaza Strip since July 12, 2006 in the Khan Yunis and Dir El-Balah areas.
IDF forces have currently completed their activities in the area.
During the night forces targeted a Hamas office in northern Gaza Strip and a bridge near Nuserat.
The IDF will continue to act with determination against terrorist
organizations and terror infrastructure in order to create the conditions for the return of Cpl. Gilad Shalit and to stop terror attacks and the launching of rockets towards Israel.
